Imperial Brown® has built three walk-in coolers of various sizes that are located in the middle of a new BJ’s Brewery operation in Temple, TX.
“The coolers look great,” says Stacey Sewell, Regional Sales Manager for Southern California, the Mountain States, and the Southwest States for Imperial Brown. “The brewery operation is happening all around the walk-ins.”
Imperial Brown specializes in high-end, exposed coolers that are innovative and serve as a focal point for restaurants and other uses.
The national BJ’s Restaurants Inc. chain located its new brewery in a former train depot in Temple, so the walk-in units had to be customized to fit the existing structure. The largest walk-in unit, a cooler/cooler combo, is 42’ by 60’ by 15’ high. It contains windows so that the brite tanks inside can be observed during the brewing process. The second cooler is 36’ by 49’ by 11’ tall and is used for storage. The third cooler is 15’ by 19’ by 10’ tall. There are five single sliding doors on the units, each 9’ wide by 8’ tall. Imperial Brown builds its own sliding doors. “This gives us a cost advantage since sliding doors are not a buyout item for us,” says Sewell.
All of the walk-in units are of 4” high-density construction, using rigid panels. Ceiling panels were hung from the building structure above.
